You can now trade US Dow Jones and S&P 500 futures options in India through NSE

NSE ( National Stock Exchange ) of India started trading the futures & options of US Indicies Dow Jones and S&P 500 from August 29th.

Indian Residents can trade the futures and options of DJI and S&P 500 , but FII's and NRI' will not be able to trade. You no need to open any new account or need to submit any new document. If your broker already allow you to trade in F&O Derivative segment, then this will be automatically available to you.

The trading will be allowed in the Indian trading hours of 9 Am to 3.30 pm, beyond that you will not be able to trade, especially when the US markets in open.

I think this trading hours restriction will have some negative impact, if NSE allow to trade atleast upto 11 pm IST, it would be beneficial for retail traders in India. Because we can track the USA markets in live and can buy or sell as per the current situation.

In the first day of trade, there is a good response for the f&o. We Have to wait and see whether this trend is continue or not, because the option trading in S&P 500 is good and better than Mini Nifty trading.
